Hi families! 


Monday is Back to School Night! We are trying to make it more interactive. We will show you how to access everything on your child's device and will explain the daily expectations. Due to limited space, please leave your children at home if possible. Here are the slides if you would like to take a look in advance. There are signup forms/links for fall conferences and volunteer forms. Information about joining Safety Patrol is at the end of the slides. 


Since we have wrapped up NWEA testing, the kids will be starting to work on their conference slides. They will put a lot of time and work into these slides so they feel prepared to lead their conferences with you in October. I think you will be very impressed with their knowledge and goals they set for themselves. Here is the link to sign up for conferences. 


We made planners out of notebooks! I am making sure to model everything so kids can write everything down and not forget anything. Please look over it with them every night. If you sign it, your student will get 5 yards! And another 5 yards if you sign their bookmark as well :) We have gotten many yards earned this way! 


Our first math unit on factors and multiples will begin this week. We will be spending lots of time reviewing & practicing multiplication facts during our BEAR math time too. We are starting science this week too! Our first unit is called Human Machine.


Picture day is Thursday, September 22nd. Please send the form in with your student if you still need to. 


If you haven't already, please fill out the Getting to Know You Google Form. This helps me learn more about your student and any additional things you would like me to know.

Hi Families!  Conferences are this week! Students have been working so hard on their slides and are excited to present them. Students will have a print out of the self reflection form they filled out, and they will go over this with you after the conference. Due to the short time we have together and the length of the slides, I will have you finish the conference slides in the hallway if we run out of time. I will have a desk set up in the hall with some chairs for you to finish. I will save five minutes for any questions you have or anything I need to mention. Thank you for understanding! Hi families!  We had such an amazing time at the track meet on Friday. The kids did a great job and had a lot of fun! Thank you to Ashley Spies for bringing and pulling the wagon with the kids water bottles. We all appreciate you!  I would also like to thank all of the students and parents for making my first teacher appreciation week a blast! Thank you so much for all of the treats, gifts, and notes, as well as the recess duty that was covered by parents. I definitely felt very appreciated :)  NWEA Reading will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday if needed. We will begin testing at 10:00, so please try to avoid scheduling appointments around that time. Students are allowed to bring in gum or mints, but they must stay in their locker until testing begins.  For those of you interested in having your child work on math at home, last week we completed unit 7 on geometry. This week we will begin unit 8/lessons 1-5. Practice using the IXL textbook would be beneficial....

  Hi families! Ice Skating Day will be this Thursday! We will start walking over to Howard Ice Arena at 9:40, and arrive at the rink around 9:55. Please make sure your student has warm clothes such as a coat, hat and gloves. Parents can meet us at the rink if you would like. We will need lots of help tying skates! Thank you! The Winter Party will be December 22nd from 11:45-12:45. A sign up sheet will be sent shortly.  Last week, I gave students their Unit 3 Math test to make corrections. I am still waiting for a couple students to take their test, so they will be sent home this week.  This Week:  Monday: Library Tuesday: Art Wednesday: Late Start/ No special  Thursday: PE, Ice Skating Day Friday: Music- Dress like a Grinch Day  Important Dates: Late Start: 12/14, 12/21 12/22: Winter Party, Ugly Sweater Day, Holiday Concert at SJHS 9:00-11:00 12/23: Winter Break starts, No School.
