Hi families! I hope you had a great weekend. 

We will begin NWEA testing this week. We will start the reading testing on Wednesday, and the math testing next Tuesday, the 24th. Testing takes about 2-3 days, it varies for each student! We will start around 10:00 so please try to schedule appointments in the afternoon. Kids can also bring in mints or gum to help wake up their brains. 

A note went home on Friday from Ms. Mileham, the music teacher. The 4th-grade performance will be on February 1st in the evening. Make sure to ask your child for the note if you have not yet received it. They are asked to wear red, white, and blue on the day of the performance since the theme is America. Hope to see you there! Also, the music is posted on google classroom if your student wants to practice at home. 

We will be taking our math test on Tuesday. We did a lot of review on Friday. I sent home an optional review sheet with questions similar to the test questions for some extra practice. If you would like me to check the answers, your student can either bring it on Tuesday, or you can email me a picture and I will check it.

Hi Families!  Conferences are this week! Students have been working so hard on their slides and are excited to present them. Students will have a print out of the self reflection form they filled out, and they will go over this with you after the conference. Due to the short time we have together and the length of the slides, I will have you finish the conference slides in the hallway if we run out of time. I will have a desk set up in the hall with some chairs for you to finish. I will save five minutes for any questions you have or anything I need to mention. Thank you for understanding! Hi families!  We had such an amazing time at the track meet on Friday. The kids did a great job and had a lot of fun! Thank you to Ashley Spies for bringing and pulling the wagon with the kids water bottles. We all appreciate you!  I would also like to thank all of the students and parents for making my first teacher appreciation week a blast! Thank you so much for all of the treats, gifts, and notes, as well as the recess duty that was covered by parents. I definitely felt very appreciated :)  NWEA Reading will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday if needed. We will begin testing at 10:00, so please try to avoid scheduling appointments around that time. Students are allowed to bring in gum or mints, but they must stay in their locker until testing begins.  For those of you interested in having your child work on math at home, last week we completed unit 7 on geometry. This week we will begin unit 8/lessons 1-5. Practice using the IXL textbook would be beneficial....

  Hi families! Ice Skating Day will be this Thursday! We will start walking over to Howard Ice Arena at 9:40, and arrive at the rink around 9:55. Please make sure your student has warm clothes such as a coat, hat and gloves. Parents can meet us at the rink if you would like. We will need lots of help tying skates! Thank you! The Winter Party will be December 22nd from 11:45-12:45. A sign up sheet will be sent shortly.  Last week, I gave students their Unit 3 Math test to make corrections. I am still waiting for a couple students to take their test, so they will be sent home this week.  This Week:  Monday: Library Tuesday: Art Wednesday: Late Start/ No special  Thursday: PE, Ice Skating Day Friday: Music- Dress like a Grinch Day  Important Dates: Late Start: 12/14, 12/21 12/22: Winter Party, Ugly Sweater Day, Holiday Concert at SJHS 9:00-11:00 12/23: Winter Break starts, No School.
