Happy last week of school! 


Tomorrow is Field Day! Please make sure students bring a water bottle, as well as wears comfortable clothes for physical activities. Here is 4th grade's schedule:


  • Lunch 11:15 on the grass in front of the school(please send in a towel or blanket for kids to sit on)
  • Lunch recess 11:40-12:05
  • 12:30-1:15 maize games on the blacktop 
  • 1:15-2:00 blue games on the field 
  • 2:00-2:45 relays in the courtyard 
  • 3:00 Staff/5th-grade kickball game

We have also finished Unit 8. Since Unit 9 reviews all the skills we have done this year, I thought it would be nice to send them home with kids to review over the summer when possible. 

On Thursday, we cleaned out our cubbies and book boxes. Everything should stay home except for a good fit book :) 

Finally, thank you so much for an incredible first year. The amount of support and love I have gotten from families as well as the students is something I will always remember. It has been such an honor to be a part of your student's learning experience and I am so proud of all of them for all of the growth I have seen this year. I am definitely going to miss these kids so much, but will always remember them as the greatest first class!

Wednesday: Half Day- No late start
Thursday: PE
Friday: 5th grade awards ceremony, Half Day, Last Day of School!

Hi Families!  Conferences are this week! Students have been working so hard on their slides and are excited to present them. Students will have a print out of the self reflection form they filled out, and they will go over this with you after the conference. Due to the short time we have together and the length of the slides, I will have you finish the conference slides in the hallway if we run out of time. I will have a desk set up in the hall with some chairs for you to finish. I will save five minutes for any questions you have or anything I need to mention. Thank you for understanding! Hi families!  We had such an amazing time at the track meet on Friday. The kids did a great job and had a lot of fun! Thank you to Ashley Spies for bringing and pulling the wagon with the kids water bottles. We all appreciate you!  I would also like to thank all of the students and parents for making my first teacher appreciation week a blast! Thank you so much for all of the treats, gifts, and notes, as well as the recess duty that was covered by parents. I definitely felt very appreciated :)  NWEA Reading will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday if needed. We will begin testing at 10:00, so please try to avoid scheduling appointments around that time. Students are allowed to bring in gum or mints, but they must stay in their locker until testing begins.  For those of you interested in having your child work on math at home, last week we completed unit 7 on geometry. This week we will begin unit 8/lessons 1-5. Practice using the IXL textbook would be beneficial....

  Hi families! Ice Skating Day will be this Thursday! We will start walking over to Howard Ice Arena at 9:40, and arrive at the rink around 9:55. Please make sure your student has warm clothes such as a coat, hat and gloves. Parents can meet us at the rink if you would like. We will need lots of help tying skates! Thank you! The Winter Party will be December 22nd from 11:45-12:45. A sign up sheet will be sent shortly.  Last week, I gave students their Unit 3 Math test to make corrections. I am still waiting for a couple students to take their test, so they will be sent home this week.  This Week:  Monday: Library Tuesday: Art Wednesday: Late Start/ No special  Thursday: PE, Ice Skating Day Friday: Music- Dress like a Grinch Day  Important Dates: Late Start: 12/14, 12/21 12/22: Winter Party, Ugly Sweater Day, Holiday Concert at SJHS 9:00-11:00 12/23: Winter Break starts, No School.
