Hi Families!  Here are some reminders:  Please make sure your student is bringing in a water bottle and snack every day.  Students should be reading their good fit book every night and getting their bookmarks signed. This is one way for them to get five yards and eventually get a touchdown!  You can also sign your student's planner for an additional five yards! This lets me know they are discussing what they are doing in school with you.  Please send in headphones for your child if you have some. I will assign some to kids if needed.  Conferences are coming up! Please sign up for conferences if you haven't already. The link will be below.  If you haven't already, please fill out the Getting to Know You Google Form. This helps me learn more about your child and what goals and achievements you would like to see for your student :) The link will be below.  If you missed Back to School Night, here are the slides. You can look through them and let me...

Hi families!  Monday is Back to School Night! We are trying to make it more interactive. We will show you how to access everything on your child's device and will explain the daily expectations. Due to limited space, please leave your children at home if possible. Here are the slides if you would like to take a look in advance. There are signup forms/links for fall conferences and volunteer forms. Information about joining Safety Patrol is at the end of the slides.  Since we have wrapped up NWEA testing, the kids will be starting to work on their conference slides. They will put a lot of time and work into these slides so they feel prepared to lead their conferences with you in October. I think you will be very impressed with their knowledge and goals they set for themselves. Here is the link to sign up for conferences.   We made planners out of notebooks! I am making sure to model everything so kids can write everything down and not forget anything. Please look o...

Hello families!      We had such an exciting first week back to school! It has been wonderful getting to know each student and learning classroom procedures to help build a strong classroom community.  Make sure you ask your child about what he/she is reading. Each student should have a "good fit" book in their backpack. 4th graders are encouraged to read each day/night for 20 minutes or more at home. Once the reading is finished, students need to record the minutes and pages read. Please sign your initials to the bookmarker. This is one example of how students can earn "yards" and eventually score a touchdown! Additionally, once they finish a book, they can write a Book Review on Google Classroom and get 10 extra yards :) We have books in our classroom library, but we will also be going to the Media Center on Mondays where they can check out a good fit book there. Sadly, we are still waiting on planners, so for the time being, a piece of paper will be...

Hello and welcome to our 4th grade blog! I am so excited to start our school year and to get to know your child better. Here are some important things to know:  Students should be reading their good fit book every night, and bookmarks should be initialed/signed.  We do have a peanut allergy and a tree nut allergy in our classroom. Please do not send these for your student's classroom snack. If you pack a lunch at home, peanut butter and nuts can be in that, just not in our classroom.  We do not have planners yet,  but will hopefully soon. For the time being, we will write reminders on a piece of paper labeled planner to send home. This should be checked by parents and students.  Please make sure your student has headphones/earbuds if possible. (I do have extras and will assign them if needed).  There are no specials on late start days.  Students need a water bottle and a healthy snack everyday.    ...
